I still remember my first time in the cryotherapy chamber, freezing my ass off. I wasn’t thinking about progress. I was just hoping I’d make it through three minutes without tapping out. When I walked out, though? My legs and movement felt brand new.
That’s when I started realizing recovery isn’t about taking it easy—it’s about making sure you can keep going. It’s about movement that actually makes you feel better, stronger, and ready for what’s next. And sometimes, that movement isn’t about lifting weights or running drills—it’s about floating in a pool, stretching out tight muscles, or just sitting in the sauna and letting the heat do the work for you.
Recovery that works
Water has this way of resetting everything. Maybe it’s how time slows down when you’re floating or how movement feels effortless the second you step in. After a tough workout, or even just a long day, sometimes the best thing you can do is stop forcing movement and let it happen naturally.
In Forte dei Marmi, the pool became our post-sports ritual. After training, we’d step in, letting the cold water take the edge off. Whether it was doing a few laps or just floating around, it felt right.
Megève, though, blew my mind. The pool literally opens from a stone cover, revealing itself step by step. It felt like something out of a movie. What shocked me (and a lot of people) was how smoothly it all happened. One moment, it’s just this sleek stone surface; the next, there’s this hidden escape unfolding in front of you. I remember my first night swim there—the way the lights reflected off the water, shifting with every ripple. It was like stepping into a moving painting.
Then there’s Ibiza, where there are two pools—one for active recovery and one that’s completely chlorine-free. I never really thought water could feel different until I tried it. Softer, cleaner, just… better. Going underwater without goggles and not feeling the sting felt so weird but yet so good.
Strength and Recovery in Megève
In Megève, I got into a rhythm—some mornings were all about strength, pushing limits. Other times? Just movement, stretching, getting into the flow. The TechnoGym equipment makes it all feel smooth, like the machines are moving with you, not against you.
Talk about feeling smooth, the sauna became one of my favorite rituals. We’d sit there as a family for 20 minutes, soaking up the heat before jumping into the cold pool—it’s brutal but feels amazing after.
Then came cryotherapy. I had heard so much about it, so I figured, why not? Three minutes at subzero temperatures. I thought I’d hate it, it was actually quite scary at first. Instead, I walked out feeling like my legs had been hit with a reset button. The next day? No soreness, just like that.

The Power of Light in Recovery
One thing I never expected to make such a difference? The Clever light therapy room in Magic Megève’s spa. This system isn’t just for aesthetics—it actually simulates natural circadian rhythms, adjusting light intensity and color to enhance recovery.
After a long day on the slopes, stepping into this space felt like my body was syncing back to where it needed to be. In the sauna, the light glows warm and golden, making the space feel alive. In the cryotherapy room, it’s crisp and bright—like it’s prepping you before the cold even hits. And in the hammam, the soft, diffused lighting makes you feel like you’ve stepped into some ancient steam ritual.
It’s subtle, but it changes everything. It soothes the recovery process.

Finding the balance
Whether it’s swimming in a pool that literally reveals itself from stone, training in a gym where movement feels effortless, or just sitting in the hammam, letting the heat do its job, it all comes down to knowing what your body needs.
Some of my best sessions have come after giving my body the time to reset. It’s not about going harder. It’s about going smarter—and actually enjoying it.
At the end of the day, movement isn’t just about performance. It’s about feeling good, staying strong, and making sure you can keep doing what you love for as long as possible.
