Once upon a time in Megève… a property, caught my parents’ gaze and refused to let go. My mother began an experiment and invited her artist friends to breathe colour and life into our chalet. They came, they painted, they sculpted. They left no corner untouched. But soon, the walls could hold no more. The art was too abundant, the vision too vast. What began as a family project had grown beyond its walls. It needed to be shared.

At Magic Megève, you wander through an 18th-century mountain farm, restored into a living art installation. Ten rooms, each imagined by a different artist: a fantastical bird-world by Luís Lázaro Matos, a temple to Jean Cocteau by Francesco Vezzoli, a dreamscape by Conrad Shawcross. Outside, the forest keeps its own secrets. Fairytale whispers and gemstones planted like seeds in the earth. The chalet is ready for any gathering, intimate or grand.

Here, my mother Mia’s love of books became its own art form. She gave each artist who contributed to the house a gift: the freedom to create a book on any subject of their choice — in collaboration with a niche, independent art publisher.

Each volume became a window into an artist’s world, bound in paper and thought, forming the first series of Archivorum×M — the public association she later founded to nurture projects at the intersection of art, poetry, and memory.
